This is a really nice way to meditate.  It helps us to focus on what we do want, distracting the mind from unwanted or outgrown habits of thought--and allowing fresh, new energy to come into our lives. 

 
Set aside a few minutes and prepare to focus on the task at hand...your current intention for today's bowl and bead meditation.  Create an affirmation statement, prayer, or blessing to use for meditation.  If you like, start with the "Peace Affirmation" meditation, below.

Swirl the beads in your bowl—invoking the sound of a shaman’s rattle—to invite your awareness more fully into the present moment. Pour the beads into your cupped hand, then drop them one-by-one back into the bowl as you repeat your statement, silently or aloud.


Imagine the ways your affirmation can manifest in your life, and envision it bringing good feelings to all concerned.  The sound of each bead dropping into the bowl will carry your intention out into the universe to gather up energy...so it can return to you as the fulfillment of your affirmation.
